“From Covid to Collective Action”. The Industrial Workers of the World and their response to the global crisis. An international discussion amongst fellow workers of the IWW in the German Language Area, North America, WISERA and Australia

May 2, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

The Corona crisis has intensified the class struggle worldwide – whether it is a matter of layoffs, short-time work, the erosion of workers’ rights or a lack of industrial safety, workers are confronted with similar challenges across borders. IWW groups deal with the new circumstances in different local contexts. How the IWW as a grassroots democratic, anti-capitalist and internationally organized union reacts to the changed situation at the workplaces, but also in society in general, we want to discuss in an online panel.

We would like to invite you to take part in the digital panel discussion on 2 May at 7pm (Central European Time), where Fellow Workers from the IWW NARA (North America), WISERA (Wales, Scotland, England, Ireland), Glamroc (IWW in the German-language area) and Australia will report on their situation and their projects. Starting with a first exchange and a subsequent discussion, we want to talk about what is happening locally, what are difficulties (or chances) we are confronted with, where are labour struggles happening or new tensions rising that could become politically important for us. And above all, where our strength lies as internationally organized workers.

We will inform you shortly about the technical details (where to stream or to join the conference call).
